Women’s Soccer Heads to Washington, D.C. for Match up Against American

Old Dominion (3-2-0, 0-0-0 C-USA) vs. American (3-2-0, 0-0-0 Patriot League)

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Old Dominion women's soccer team is set to hit the road to take on American on Thursday, Sept. 9 at 4 p.m. at the Reeves Athletic Complex and Greenberg Track.  

ODU (3-2) is coming off of a 3-1 victory over Richmond on Sunday night. Carla Morich racked up four shots, three shots on goal, two goals, and one assist. The Monarchs also hit a season high in shots (16) and shots on goal (8).  

American (3-2) is also heading into the match off of a win against George Washington. Despite being outshot (21-11) and having no corner kick opportunities, American won 2-0. Freshman keeper Julia Kato came up big for American keeping a clean sheet for the second straight game and making nine saves.  

The last time ODU and AU played against each other was in 2002 at home at the ODU Soccer Complex, where the Monarchs won 5-0.
