He Is At The 'Top Of That List' - Jake Paul Hints At His Next Boxing Opponent After Tyron Woodley Win

He Is At The 'Top Of That List' - Jake Paul Hints At His Next Boxing Opponent After Tyron Woodley Win

Jake Paul praised Tommy Fury as a "real boxer," adding that he has a healthy social media following thanks to his time on Love Island.

Jake Paul has hinted that a massive showdown with fierce rival Tommy Fury could happen next after claiming that he is “top of that list.”

The 24-year-old American star extended his unbeaten boxing campaign to 4-0 after a split-decision victory over former UFC star Tyron Woodley in August.

Paul has engaged in a heated rivalry with Fury in recent months and even targeted the former Love Island star’s partner, Molly-Mae Hague, in their ongoing public spat.

Fury remains unbeaten in his fledgling boxing career and extended his record to 7-0 with his unanimous decision victory over Anthony Taylor on the Paul vs Woodley undercard.

The 22-year-old Manchester-born boxer, who is the younger half-brother of WBC champ Tyson Fury, also confronted Paul backstage after the Woodley fight.

Paul revealed Fury was on his hit list of future opponents, putting him behind Canelo Alvarez, Nate Diaz, Nick Diaz and UFC welterweight champ Kamaru Usman.

However, the YouTuber-turned-boxer seems to have had a change of heart and now suggested that a super-fight with Fury could happen sooner than expected.

“I think Tommy Fury is at the top of that list. He’s skilled, he’s undefeated and he’s a real boxer,” Paul told the Full Send Podcast.

“He has like 4million followers on Instagram, which is good engagement. He has the fans from like his relationship show [Love Island].”

The former Love Island star has been keen to settle his feud with Paul and even called out the YouTuber after his US debut.

John Fury has also been critical of Paul’s boxing career and argued that he has “not fought any credible opposition.”

Paul insisted that a potential fight with the undefeated Fury would depend on how lucrative the bout would be and whether his opponent stands a chance against him.

He explained: “It all starts with the numbers, like would the fight sell a lot? Would people actually care? I could go and fight the infamous jiu-jitsu guy who doesn’t shut up on social media, but it’s a hard sell.

“This guy just beat a UFC hall of fame striker, we’re not going to put him up against a jiu-jitsu guy in a boxing match.

“After each fight, we go back to the drawing board and we’re like, ‘Who makes the most sense’ -- can they actually sell pay-per-views? Can we sell this fight as like, ‘This is a tough fight for Jake.’

“I’ve been the favourite, so now I almost want to go into a fight where it’s like, ‘There’s no way he’s going to do this.’

“I just want to keep proving people wrong because I could take a social media influencer and fight them right now and make a decent bag. It’s just a tough sell because I did all of that.”
