WBC heavyweight world champion Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury is promising to end Deontay Wilder once and for all.

The two heavyweight rivals will collide in a trilogy fight on Saturday, October 9, in the headline bout of a joint ESPN+ and FOX Sports pay-per-view event.

The upcoming card takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Their first encounter took place in December 2018, and ended in a controversial twelve round split draw. Fury went down twice in the fight.

In the rematch, which took place in February 2020, Fury dominated the action by dropping Wilder twice and stopping him in seven rounds to capture the WBC title.

Wilder would exercise an immediate rematch clause in the aftermath - with the coronavirus pandemic pushing back several of their tentative fight dates.

Eventually a legal dispute erupted over the validity of the contract terms, with an arbitrator ordering Fury to honor the rematch clause due to Wilder.

A date was set down for July, but everything was pushed back when Fury tested positive for COVID-19.

Wilder has made numerous allegations regarding the outcome of the second bout - including a controversial claim that Fury loaded his gloves with egg weights.

To eliminate all doubts from their first two encounters, Fury has promised to knock Wilder out cold.

“I’m going to knock Deontay Wilder spark out and it’s going to be even quicker than our last fight,” said Fury.

“If he couldn’t beat me [in 2018] after three years out of the ring and 10 stone weight loss, he’s never beating me. None of them will. They’re just hyped up bums. All of them. Wilder, Joshua, Usyk. They’re all bums. Compared to me, they’re no good.”
