Orioles rally, score 9 runs in the 8th for improbable 9-8 win over Royals in front of another record-low home crowd

Another record-low crowd at Camden Yards Wednesday might have spent most of the night wondering if it wasn’t only the fans that didn’t show up.

Those that came and stayed, however, were treated to the most sensational — and improbable — comeback imaginable in a 9-8 win Wednesday before an announced crowd of 4,965 fans at Camden Yards.

Trailing 5-0 in the eighth inning with nothing going their way, the Orioles came to life in a way they rarely have this season. Cedric Mullins worked a leadoff walk, went to second on a single by Ryan Mountcastle, and scored when Austin Hays extended his hitting streak to 15 games with a double.
