The cruise line has come up with a new online treasure hunt, allowing potential passengers to win a great cruise to a mystery destination.
Windstar Cruises’ Treasure Hunt
To take part in the treasure hunt, online participants are asked to watch 11 videos that will be posted on social media between September 10, when the hunt begins, and September 30. The videos will also be available on sweepstakes website, along with Windstar’s Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Each video contains a clue that leads the participant to the grand prize treasure. Each clue comes in the form of a letter, number or symbol that, when put together in the right order after watching all 11 videos, forms a Google Plus code to unveil the location of the treasure. Each participant that cracks the secret code will be entered to win a free cruise with a companion to the destination revealed by the treasure code, as well as grabbing a $200 onboard credit.

Subsequent videos will be posted every few days from now until September 30. The contest is open to all US citizens and the winner of the grand prize will be announced on October 1.
Windstar Cruises’ health and safety protocols
As with other cruise lines, Windstar Cruises has implemented full health and safety protocols for passengers and crew alike. These include onboard testing, modified cleaning, mask requirements and social distancing standards in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Windstar cruise ships were initially halted by the pandemic in the spring of 2020. When the cruise ships were relaunched earlier this summer, reduced passenger capacity was imposed to allow for social distancing.
Windstar Cruises operates a fleet of three sailing ships and three small cruise yachts. Its largest ship carries 342 passengers, while its smallest sailing ship only hosts 148.
When the company restarted operations in June, Windstar Yacht Club Members were the first to show interest in sailing again. The company’s loyalty program lets passengers gain points for every night they sail, along with the opportunity to learn nightly bonus points when staying in a higher stateroom category. Members can then use their accrued points to gain future cruise discounts, onboard credits and other perks.
However, the new treasure hunt and sweepstakes is free to all US citizens to participate, not just Yacht Club members. Have fun participating in the treasure hunt and good luck with possibly winning the big prize of a delightful cruise to a mystery destination!
