Fans at PNC Park watched Caleb "The Crusher" Gallagher throw out the first pitch before the Pirates played the St. Louis Cardinals.
Caleb pitches and plays third base and shortstop in the Miracle League of the South Hills.
The Pittsburgh Pirates Charities invited Miracle League players and families to enjoy a game from a suite last month.
The Miracle League removes the barriers so Caleb and others who are physically or mentally challenged can play ball.
At the event, Caleb got to meet all of the Pirates and even convinced owner Bob Nutting to give him a major league tryout.
"It's been a dream of mine ever since I've been a fan of the Buccos," Caleb said.
Caleb described his power behind the plate that led him to a tryout at PNC Park.
"I told him I know a few different pitches and I would like to try out it had been a dream of mine to do so," Caleb said. "For the past six or seven years in the Miracle League, the power in my swing just went from 'eh a little bit' to blowing the baseballs into the atmosphere."
The Pittsburgh Pirates shared a video of Caleb's big day.
"Just the memories that I'll have for the rest of my life," Caleb said.
Caleb said if anyone is thinking about joining the Miracle League, just simply put the fear aside and take a leap of faith.
