Key players: Luke Brex, RB/DB, Sr.; Ryan Connelly, RB/DB, Sr.; Hank Hobban, OL/DL, Sr.; Jay Martin, OL/DL, Sr.; Mike Cerbo, QB, Jr.

Outlook: Sussex County has always been known as a tough, run-first sort of town and that’s exactly what the Cougars are expecting from their football team. Luke Brez and Ryan Connelly form a formidable tandem in the backfield behind a line commandeered by the likes of Hank Lobban and Jay Martin.

Quarterback Mike Cerbo showed several flashes of potential in 2020′s strange year and, with a full offseason to prepare as the starter, can be even more dangerous as a pass-first quarterback that will keep a standard 8- or 9-in the box run defense honest.

Defensively the Cougars will look to the secondary, where the likes of Connelly, Brex and Trent Molfetto return as starter s from a year ago. There’s plenty of returning talent in the linebacking corps as well behind Dan Holdt and Mike Knutelsky.
