A 43-year-old Albany man who was wanted in connection with a joint investigation that took place back in June between the Albany Police Department and the New York State Attorney General’s Office has been taken into custody.
According to the Albany Police Department, Albany detectives from the Community Response Unit located Jamar Brayboy at the Red Carpet Inn, located at 500 Northern Boulevard, on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at approximately 4:20 p.m. Brayboy was arrested on the strength of a bench warrant issued on June 22, 2021 out of Albany County Family Court for Conspiracy 2nd.
At the time of his arrest, Brayboy was also found to have a quantity of fentanyl concealed in the pocket of his sweatshirt. A search warrant at the location also led to the discovery of a loaded .380 handgun and a loaded .40 caliber handgun.
In addition to the warrant for Conspiracy 2nd, Brayboy was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th, one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd and three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd.
He was arraigned Wednesday morning in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
