As The View panel stands at the moment, Joy Behar is currently the only original panel member still on the show. And the show just kicked off its 25th season this week, celebrating its silver anniversary, with Behar returning with moderator Whoopi Goldberg, as well as co-hosts Sara Haines and Sunny Hostin. She’s even set to have a reunion with former OG co-host Star Jones, who will make a reappearance as guest co-host this Friday (Sept. 10) on the show. But all things considered, is Behar’s tenure with The View coming to a close? Moreover, has she been fired?

Back last week, Behar gave an interview to People, discussing her 23 years on the show — and reminiscing over almost being fired. “I’ve had to apologize, which I’m happy to do in order to save mine and everybody else’s job. I don’t care. Even if I don’t mean it, I’ll do it. Even if I look like I’m in a hostage takeover, I’ll still do it, because if you don’t do it, you lose your job and everybody else’s,” she said. That’s, uh, a little nerve-racking, to say the least!

On today’s show, after some old memories were brought to light by guests Martin Short and Steve Martin, folks may be a little confused as to Behar’s status with the ABC talk show. The View is already down one host — here’s what he know about Behar’s hosting gig.

Was Joy Behar fired from The View? Will Joy Behar still be a co-host on The View Season 25?

No, Joy Behar wasn’t fired from The View in Season 25 — she’s still with us, thankfully! She was, however, gone from The View for a quick stint from 2013 to 2015. Was she fired then? Keep reading to find out.

Why was Joy Behar fired from The View?

On today’s episode of The View, guest Martin Short got into a sarcastic little tiff with Behar. After Short made a joke about photoshopping his grandmother to look hot, Behar said, “You are perverted!”

But Short fired right back, roasting her by saying, “Sure. What’s your point? At least I wasn’t fired by The View, was I?” Behar nodded in agreement, saying she was, indeed, fired from The View. But she’s referencing when she was fired back in 2013, not now.

“Somebody wanted me gone,” the comedian told People magazine of her 2013 departure. “It was not 100 percent my choice.” But Behar returned and has been back since 2015, her fiery red hair and opinions spicing things up at the panel.

Who are this week’s guest co-hosts on The ViewThe View guest co-host schedule:

Behar may not be gone, but there was, however, a huge departure from The View this season. Meghan McCain left earlier this year, leaving an empty space at the table. That seat will be filled with a series of rotating conservative guest co-hosts, and on Fridays, returning co-hosts from past seasons. This week, Mia Love is filling the seat during the week, with Star Jones set to make her grand re-entrance for Flashback Friday.
