The 2021-22 NHL season is right around the corner, and that means important dates are being lined up.
For example, the Blackhawks open the year on the road on October 13th against the Colorado Avalanche, which is 35 days away. They play their first game at the United Center on October 19th. And this afternoon, they announced when and how you can get your hands on single-game tickets for the 2021-22 season.

Inside, you’ll find all the information you need for purchasing single-game tickets, which go on sale at Noon CT on September 14th. Also, within the ticket sales release from the Blackhawks, they announced a number of special event nights and promotions.
Some notable game promos include:
Oct 21: Patrick Kane's 1,000th game ceremony
Jan 13: Andrew Shaw retirement ceremony
Jan 31: Brent Seabrook retirement ceremony
Mar 3: Niklas Hjalmarsson retirement ceremony
Apr 12: Pride Night
Apr 14: Pat Foley retirement celebration— Mario Tirabassi (@Mario_Tirabassi) September 8, 2021
One of the biggest running storylines from last season for the Blackhawks was the amount of players who were either with the team or were recently with the team that retired. Corey Crawford, Brent Seabrook, and Andrew Shaw all retired from hockey prior to or during the 2020-21 season, while Niklas Hjalmarsson announced his retirement this offseason. Seabrook, Shaw, and Hjalmarsson will all have retirement ceremonies with the Blackhawks this season, but Crawford was omitted from the list of recent players to hang-up the skates.
It could be something, it could be nothing, but it is worth noting that he was not listed as a player who would be honored, at least this season.
Another bit of information that was passed along today from the Blackhawks is that the fan-favorite “Training Camp Festival” will not take place this year.
Again, you can find the full list of promotional nights here, as well as information on purchasing single-game tickets this season. As a reminder, fans going to games at the United Center this season will need to provide proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or a recent negative test to enter the arena.
