Great news for Reds on their travels next week because Manchester United fans are allowed into Switzerland for the club’s opening Champions League away game to Young Boys.

The news comes after a late compromise was made over COVID-19 regulations.

Many feared United would be without an away section at the Stade de Suisse in Bern after Young Boys refused to allocate tickets based on local laws that do not recognise NHS passes as proof of vaccination.

At least the matter has now been resolved – but it has its costs as well and won’t be a straightforward journey for any Red making the trip.

According to The Athletic, testing costs £50 to £60 and the process is anticipated to take up to two hours due to the volume of people.

Supporters must take a test at an approved site which will be situated next to the stadium in Bern. Then, a Swiss certification will be issued once the test is negative.

United have been allocated 1,800 tickets and to enter the ground each fan must present their ticket, passport and valid Swiss COVID-19 certificate.
