An incredible mural of Eminem was created only to be defaced one day later by vandals.

Chicago-based artist and planner Chris Devins painted a mural of Eminem on Saturday (September 4) in the Cass Corridor in Detroit.

Devins posted a video to his Instagram account of him working on the mural. In the background, you can hear how amazed people are by his work. "That's beautiful," one person yelled.

According to The Detroit News, after six hours of hard work, Devins finished around 7 p.m. However, after being completed for only a day, Devins discovered through social media that his mural was vandalized with several bird heads all over Eminem's face and neck.

"I felt terrible," Devins told The Detroit News. "I was devastated. Who would do that? That's against the rules of street art."

Although Devins lives in Chicago, he intends to go back to Detroit and fix the mural. "I would like to re-present it to the community in its unblemished form," he said.

It was also noted that Devins was not hired to create the mural. It was his own creation of street art. He said the Eminem mural was to reflect his love for hip-hop and respect for the rapper.

Devins posted a photo of the defaced mural on Instagram and wrote:

"Only one day after it's completion, some idiot in Detroit already defaced the new M mural. You can't give some people anything good. Dumb. I can probably fix it but d*mn...."
