Celtic have made quite a few additions to their squad over the course of the summer. And it is not just the club’s first-team that has been strengthened but the youth team as well.

The Hoops’ B team have been doing quite well in the Lowland League till now and now appear to have a great new player in their squad in the form of Ciaran Dickson.

Not too long ago, Dickson was one of the most highly-rated young players at the Rangers, so much so that he had already made his debut for the first-team and was expected to be a regular feature for them in the future. He even signed a contract extension with them earlier this year.

Things did not turn out as Steven Gerrard’s side would have expected though and he was surprisingly released by the club in the summer, only to complete a switch to Parkhead later on. And now, it looks like he is enjoying his time in the Hoops.

Dickson has made an incredible start to his time with Celtic

Dickson scored on his debut for the Celtic B side and has scored in his second game for them as well, as they registered a 2-0 win against Gala Fairydean Rovers.

The central midfielder even hit the woodwork during the game and is already looking like a solid addition for the Hoops. Now it remains to be seen how he performs as the season progresses and whether he can break into Ange Postecoglou’s plans in the near future. The early signs are looking very positive though.

It must be said that the Hoops have not been brilliant when it comes to bringing through young players in the past few seasons although it looks like that is something that is already starting to change. Hopefully, the club’s youngsters will get plenty of chances to prove themselves at the senior level moving forward.
