It's happening and cannot be undone. Just like Tri-City Dust Devils games are being canceled, so are sporting events at schools because numerous players have tested positive for Covid-19.

The Richland Bombers freshman football team had to cancel practice on Tuesday. And, in Pasco, the High School girls' Junior Varsity soccer game against Walla Walla was canceled.

Because of rising Covid cases of the delta variant, the Richland School District is making changes for safety reasons. Weekly updates have been posted to the Covid dashboard. There were ten student and employee cases. Staff at Jason Lee, Badger Mountain, Tapteal, and Chief Joseph elementary schools tested positive, as did students from Lewis and Clark, Badger Mountain, River's Edge High School, and Enterprise Middle School.

So far, no classrooms have been closed.

Both Kennewick and Pasco school districts have reported more than 100 positive cases.

Children are encouraged to wash their hands frequently, use hand sanitizer, and of course, wear a facial mask.
