A Seward County man has been arrested after police said he was offering a minor money for sexually explicit pictures.
According to the Butler County Sheriff's Office, on May 17, 2021, The Butler County Sheriff's Office was contacted by the East Butler High School regarding a sexually explicit email intercepted by the school's security software.
In the email, an adult from Seward County had been offering to pay money to receive explicit photographs of a minor.
The Butler County Sheriff's Office says they opened a Sex Trafficking of a Minor Investigation and worked jointly with the Seward County Sheriff's Office for over three months.
On Sept. 3, 2021, the two Sheriff's offices executed a search warrant on a residence in Staplehurst, Nebraska.
The Butler County Sheriff's Office says their main suspect was interviewed and then arrested.
The suspect is currently lodged at the Butler County Jail.
Identifying information regarding the identity of their suspect, what charges they were arrested on, the age and gender of the minor(s) solicited and what evidence their search warrant produced have not been announced.
NTV News spoke to Butler County Sheriff Tom Dion who said he could not comment on the matter at this time.
The Seward County Sheriff's Office says they are currently continuing their investigation.
Both Sheriff's offices ask anyone who has information regarding minors receiving an email(s) asking explicit questions and/or offering money for explicit images to call their offices at 402-367-7400 (Butler County) or 402-643-2359 (Seward County).
