What a night it was in St. Louis on Tuesday! Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts gave the fans at Busch Stadium what they wanted and batted Albert Pujols third in the starting lineup.

After the future Hall of Famer got a standing ovation from the home crowd, he proceeded to kick off the scoring with a solo shot off JA Happ in the first inning. That set the tone for the Dodgers, who ran away with a 7-2 win after a couple of Justin Turner bombs, to take the second game of the series.

But they won’t be facing a lowly JA Happ on Wednesday night. And they won’t be trotting out one of their top arms. And they won’t have a well-rested bullpen.

What should we expect? Let’s break it down in the betting preview!

Per WynnBET, the Dodgers are slight favorites at -130 on the moneyline (bet $130 to win $100) and the Cardinals are slight underdogs at +110 (bet $100 to win $110). There’s not much of a difference on the run line, as LA is +120 (bet $100 to win $120) if you want to take them at -1.5 runs. St. Louis is -150 (bet $150 to win $100) if you take them +1.5 runs.

The over/under is relatively low at 8.5 runs. The over is -105 (bet $105 to win $100) and the under is -116 (bet $116 to win $100).

Dodgers Pitcher Today

It’ll be Mitch White (1-2, 3.49 ERA) taking the mound for the Dodgers against seasoned veteran Adam Wainwright (14-7, 2.91 ERA). White is enjoying a bit of a breakout campaign while Wainwight is witnessing a renaissance of sorts.

After a shaky start to 2021, White has emerged as a valuable Swiss Army knife for manager Dave Roberts, who has used the right-hander in spots starts and long relief (after his performance in late and close games didn’t really work out). He’s currently auditioning for a spot on the postseason roster.

As for Waino, he’s enduring a run of NINE straight quality starts, and the Cards are 8-1 in those games. However, the Dodgers will be the toughest test of this long stretch of impressive form for the 40-year-old.

Dodgers vs Cardinals Prediction Today

The Dodgers are hot right now, so it might be irresponsible to bet against them, especially at this good of a price. Though the Cards are fighting for their playoff lives right now, they’ve run into an offensive drought, crossing the plate just eight times in their last four games. If White can limit excessive damage, the Dodgers can certainly work Wainwright a bit and then really take advantage of a horrific St. Louis bullpen.

Let’s call it a tight one, 5-4, in favor of LA.
