Billie Eilish, Travis Barker, 50 Cent and more are set to appear at the 2021 MTV Music Video Awards, which air live on Sept. 12 from Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Barker is scheduled to join Machine Gun Kelly for a debut performance of their new single “papercuts,” MTV announced on Wednesday (Sept. 8).
Hosted by “Kiss Me More” star Doja Cat, this year’s VMAs promises to be a star-studded lineup of both performers and presenters with headlining acts, such as Olivia Rodrigo and Justin Bieber, taking the stage. While it was initially announced that Lorde would perform at the awards, the New Zealand-born singer dropped out of the show on Sept. 3 “due to a change in production elements,” according to MTV’s official Twitter account.
Produced by Bruce Gilmer and Jesse Ignjatovic, co-founder of Den of Thieves, the VMAs will broadcast live on the East Coast on Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. ET. It will be tape delayed on the West Coast, airing at 8 p.m. PT. In addition to MTV, the show will air on Paramount+, plus a number of streaming services that provide live television options, including Hulu + Live TV, fuboTV and Sling TV.
