Although Demise, the demon king of Demise, has only been in Skyward Sword to date, his influence can be felt across the entire franchise. Skyward Sword is the beginning of the Zelda timeline. It establishes tons of important lore, including why Ganon forever comes into conflict with Link or Zelda. That’s because Ganon is the resurrected heir to Demise, enacting his curse on Link by seeking vengeance for the demon king’s defeat. Demise could be making preparations for his return, however. Demise’s return is more likely than ever, considering the theories surrounding Demise’s connection with Malice and Breath the Wild’s mysterious connections to Skyward Sword.
Many people consider Malice a sign that Demise is connected to Breath of the Wild 2. __S.24__ Malice and some core purposes are horribly familiar with Demise’s role as the forefather monsterkind.
Malice creates endless streams of cursed creatures in Hyrule Castle, the Divine Beasts, and, more importantly, the Blood Moons that resurrect monsters across Hyrule. Malice’s seemingly bottomless ability to conjure evil creatures makes some fans believe that its ultimate source is Demise, the demon king. It’s not surprising that Skyward Sword‘s creatures sometimes drop purple Evil Crystals, which are often described as physical malice.
Fans believe the Breath the Wild 2 trailers strengthen Demise’s ties with Malice. Breath of the Wild 2‘s trailers shows Link and Zelda coming into contact with what appears to be Ganondorf’s corpse, buried beneath Hyrule Castle and bleeding Malice profusely, suggesting it’s a source of the mysterious power. Some fans believe the corpse may not be Ganondorf because of its similarities to Demise’s facial features and hair. When part of Skyloft crushed Demise and sent him plummeting down to the earth, Skyward Sword was when he was first killed. Many fans believe that Demise’s corpse was buried there for many years since Hyrule Castle was built at the spot of Demise’s death. It could be Ganondorf’s corpse, but his implied burial could refer to Demise’s final resting place.
