Detroit Police officers helped save a child after her parents ran into the precinct frantically yelling for help.

Erica Wilson and Thomas Williams ran into the fifth precinct carrying their unresponsive daughter, Sevyn, pleading for help from the officers on duty, WDIV 4 reported. The two parents left in such a hurry they arrived at the precinct without any shirts on. Thomas was wearing shorts and a pair of shoes and Erica was in jeans, shoes and a bra.

"I observed a gentleman carrying an unresponsive baby in a hurried fashion to the front of the building," Officer Kevin Treasvant told the local news station.

Treasvant said his parental instincts and training immediately kicked in once he had Sevyn in his arms. "We can't lose this baby," he added. "Not on our watch." He began to perform chest presses while the other officers called for help.

Sevyn's parents are seen in the footage frantically walking around the precinct while officers try to save her. She had a 103-degree fever and was still unresponsive after CPR, so officers decided to transport Sevyn themselves.

While in the back of the squad car, Officer Danny Ruiz-Cruz had Sevyn in his arms and she began to breathe again. "I could see her eyes opening and looking at me. She was whining a bit, so I knew that she was in pain," officer Ruiz-Cruz said.

Sevyn and the officers made it to the hospital safely. Thanks to the help from officers, Sevyn is alive and doing better. "It's a good feeling. We saved the baby. The baby's healthy; that's the whole important thing," Officer Ruiz-Cruz added.
