Peacock tossed three innings in relief during Tuesday's 12-7 loss to the Rays, giving up four runs on four hits and a walk while striking out three.

After making a spot start Sept. 1 against the Rays in his Red Sox debut, Peacock shifted to the bullpen with Boston bringing its rotation back to five men to begin the week. With Eduardo Rodriguez failing to escape the fourth inning in his start, Peacock and Michael Feliz were needed to provide length Tuesday. It's unclear if Peacock will continue to work in relief the rest of the week, as the team will have a need for a fifth starter Sept. 14 in Seattle after Nick Pivetta was forced to the COVID-19 injured list Tuesday following his positive test.
