Bubba Can Cook Sept. 10 and 11

The Friends of Grimes County is hosting their 15th annual Bubba Can Cook Fundraiser Friday and Saturday, Sept. 10 and 11, at the Grimes County Expo Center, 5220 FM 3455 in Navasota.

The music festival and barbeque cook off raises funds for the communities in Grimes County for special projects. Over 70 cookoff teams are anticipated to compete in a variety of categories including adult beverage contest, pinto beans, open seafood, open dessert, chicken, spare ribs and brisket. Winners can win up to $1,000 on each of the three meats.

There will also be a Bubba Can Cook children’s cookoff Friday Night, Sept. 10, for ages 6-15. Entry fee is $25 and this year cookers will grill a pork chop. Entry fee is $25 and includes the pork chop and barbecue pit. Supply your own seasonings and cooking utensils.

Live music will be provided Friday by the Highway 105 Band and Saturday by the Whiskey Bent Band. There will also be a live auction and a raffle.

The Friends of Grimes County is a Certified 501c3 Charity Organization and your donation is a legal tax deduction. They will gladly supply you with a receipt for tax purposes.
