Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo agree on Man Utd target after private chat
Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo have a shared desire to win every piece of silverware available to Manchester United.
The Portugal teammates will join forces at club level for the first time following the international break after Ronaldo, 36, sealed an emotional return to Old Trafford this summer.
Ronaldo won seven major honours including three Premier League titles and the Champions League during his stunning first stint with United between 2003 and 2009.
Fernandes, meanwhile, is yet to win his first trophy with the Red Devils since arriving in January last year and the club's silverware drought dates back to 2017.
The playmaker is desparate to address this in his second full season with United - and Ronaldo is equally determined to add to the Old Trafford trophy cabinet.
"Our focus and Cristiano’s, because of what I’ve already talked to him about, is to win what there is to win," Fernandes told Portuguese outlet RTP3 .
"Our goals remain and obviously, with Cristiano, we have one more reference to help us get closer to that."
Fernandes also claims Ronaldo's return has injected the United squad with renewed confidence.
The 27-year-old added: "We know that enthusiasm will be high, everyone knows Cristiano and is very happy and confident to have him back.
"Us players are part of that confidence, we know what he can give us."
While Fernandes started Portugal's 3-0 victory in Azerbaijan on Tuesday night, Ronaldo played no part in the fixture as he was suspended after the 2-1 win over Republic of Ireland last week.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner scored two late goals to complete a remarkable comeback and was booked for taking off his shirt in celebration.

This made Ronaldo ineligible for the World Cup qualifier at the Baku Olympic Stadium, so Portugal chiefs permitted him to leave their camp for the United Kingdom.
The former Real Madrid striker spent five days in quarantine before taking part in his first training session with his new teammates on Tuesday.
Ronaldo will soon be joined by Fernandes, who picked up the assist for Bernardo Silva's opening goal against Azerbaijan.
The pair could line up together against Newcastle United on Saturday, with Ronaldo desparate to play in front of a packed Old Trafford once again.
"Manchester United is a club that has always had a special place in my heart, and I have been overwhelmed by all the messages I have received since the announcement," he said as he was unveiled as a United player.
"I cannot wait to play at Old Trafford in front of a full stadium and see all the fans again."
