Piranha Games' mecha action title MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries could be coming to PlayStation consoles after the release on Xbox consoles earlier this year.

UPDATE: Sony have officially announced that MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries will be launching on PS4 and PS5 on September 23, 2021, along with Heroes of the Inner Sphere DLC. Check out the official announcement on the PS blog for more details.

Original Story: After a successful launch on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles earlier this year, Piranha Games could bring their mecha action game MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries to PlayStation consoles. Data miners have found a key art for the game on the PlayStation Network backend, which suggests the reveal could be imminent.

Given that the key art is already on the PlayStation Network, it's entirely possible that the game will be available for pre-order as soon as it's revealed. Assets on PSN usually suggest a store page is already been set up so it shouldn't be long before we get an official announcement.

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries is also available on the PC platform via the Epic Games Store and Steam.

In case you are not familiar with the game, MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries is set in the year of 3015 where mechs are dominating the battlefields. The game allows players to level entire cities as they battle in a four-player PvE co-op.

The game received mixed reviews on release but on Steam, the reviews are "Mostly Positive" which is certainly a great sign that Piranha did this iconic franchise justice.
