Rain and thunderstorms are in the forecast for Wednesday. While not expected to be as bad as the flooding caused by the remnants of Hurricane Ida, today’s rain could cause problems in and around Yankee Stadium, where the New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays are scheduled to continue their four-game series at 7 p.m.
Here’s the latest forecast from the National Weather Service:
Today
A 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. South wind 7 to 16 mph.
Tonight
Showers and thunderstorms. Low around 68. South wind 6 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible

In addition, a Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued:
A cold front may bring a period of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms late this afternoon and tonight. There is a marginal risk of excessive rainfall/flash flooding with this system.
If tonight’s game gets played, the Yankees will be looking to bounce back from their second straight loss to the Blue Jays, who have won six straight overall.
The Yankees remain a half-game ahead of the Boston Red Sox in the American League Wild Card Race. But the streaking Blue Jays have moved to within two games of the second wild-card slot, currently held by Boston.
