Vaccines available Wednesday to meet registration deadline for third drawing of ‘MO VIP’
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The third of five drawings for a chance to win $10,000 will take place Friday, with the deadline for new entries being Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 11:59 p.m.
Anyone who has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by the deadline can enter for the drawings.
In order to make the deadline there are places to get the vaccine Wednesday.
Capital Care Pharmacies in Jefferson City and Versailles are both allowing walk-ins to anyone who wants to get the vaccines from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Vaccines are also available at the Community Health Center Offices in Jefferson City and Linn from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Jefferson City Medical Group is also giving out shots Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
In Boone County, the health department is hosting a clinic at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Most local retail pharmacies including Hy-Vee, Walgreens, Walmart, and Target have appointments available.
The vaccines are free to anyone who wants one.
More than 550,000 doses have been administered by state-enrolled providers since the day after the launch of MO VIP, and nearly 600,000 people have signed up to win.
Each of the five drawings will generate 180 winners, for a total of 900 winners overall.
Those who can not enter the sweepstakes online can call the COVID-19 hotline Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.at 877-435-8411.
