BAY CITY, MI -- The fall sports season is in full swing.

Athletes are getting a chance to show their skills in the high school fall sports of volleyball, cross country, girls swimming, boys tennis, girls golf and boys soccer.

And MLive is taking the opportunity to recognize some of the area standouts with the MLive Bay City Athlete of the Week poll. Each week, we’ll spotlight area athletes and ask readers to vote for a weekly honoree.

Cast your vote as often as you’d like until the poll closes at 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 13. All MLive player polls are non-scientific ventures, designed to promote fun, fandom and discussion. The winners receive no prize and the results have no impact on postseason awards.

Coaches from the Bay City area’s 25 high schools are asked to nominate athletes each week by emailing lthomps2@mlive.com.
