Premier League Top Six Side Ready To Break The Bank For Jude Bellingham

Premier League Top Six Side Ready To Break The Bank For Jude Bellingham

The Borussia Dortmund youngster continues to impress in the Bundesliga and on the international stage and some big sides are interested.

Jude Bellingham is a target for one Premier League 'big six' side next summer, and they're willing to break their club record fee for him.

Bellingham has been brilliant for Borussia Dortmund since moving to the Bundesliga side in 2020, after just one season playing in the Championship for Birmingham City.

His incredibly fast rise has seen him already win eight caps for Gareth Southgate's England team, including during the summer's Euros, and once again impressed on Sunday against Andorra.

There is a belief that he could be a starter in the World Cup next winter, should the team qualify, when he'll still only be 19-years-old.

With such an incredibly bright future, it's no surprise that he's being linked to some of the world's biggest clubs, with Bellingham having chosen Dortmund ahead of Manchester United.

Now however another Premier League side are reportedly interested, with the Daily Star claiming Liverpool are ready to offer £80 million for the teenager next summer.

With Jurgen Klopp having not replaced Georginio Wijnaldum, who left for PSG in the summer when his contract expired, it's not surprising that a midfielder is his top priority next year.

The report claims that Bellingham is the German's number one target and he is willing to break the club's record for a transfer fee in order to sign him.

Liverpool's most expensive signing remains Virgil van Dijk, who cost the club around £75 million, and any move for Bellingham would likely top that.

United reportedly remain interested in the young midfielder as well, Chelsea are rumoured to have him as their second choice option, should they not be able to sign Declan Rice, and Manchester City can never be counted out trying to sign young talent.

Reds' captain Jordan Henderson recently praised his Three Lions teammate whilst on international duty, possibly in an attempt to butter him up.

"He's a fantastic player," Henderson said, "Even at such a young age he shows fantastic maturity on and off the field. You can see how hungry he is to be a top player and has all the attributes to do that."

There could be a couple of stumbling blocks for Liverpool in their attempts to sign the midfielder next summer, one being he has no current intention to leave.

The second one is that, whilst £80 million would be a significant profit from the £25 million Dortmund paid, the Germans don't tend to sell more than one big name player every summer.

They held firm on not selling Erling Haaland this year, with Chelsea extremely interested, as Jadon Sancho moved to Manchester United.

Next summer, with his release clause active, Haaland is certain to move away from the Westfalenstadion, meaning the club will likely refuse any offer for Bellingham.
