Early County News

COVID numbers finally decline

For the first time in weeks, Early County was removed from the “emerging counties” category at the Georgia Department of Public Health, indicating a drop in new positive test results.

Early County had no new cases during the week of July 9. Since then, there has been a steady increase in positive tests as the delta variant spread rapidly throughout the community and around the country. The August 20 report hit the high mark of 97, with August 28 falling to 78.

Residents are still encouraged to take precautions to avoid the spread of the Coronavirus.
