What's cooking in the Camino Kitchen: Doug Trattner pays a visit

The famed kitchen was Nick Camino's backdrop while working from home.

SOLON, Ohio — "Comin' atcha from the Camino Kitchen..."

That was a phrase many viewers probably heard back in 2020, while our Nick Camino anchored sportscasts from home. Specifically, from his kitchen.

That is immaculate.

Many 3News anchors poked fun at Nick for just how spotless and tv-show ready his kitchen always seemed behind him. A large island, beautiful white cabinets, it is truly made for TV.

And that caught our Doug Trattner's eye.

Doug and Nick exchanged many a tweet through 2020, whether it was another extended invite for Doug to visit the kitchen one day, or sharing photos of their dinner with each other.

And now, all those tweets from over the years, have come to fruition. Doug recently made the trip the Camino Kitchen, to prove it is not, in fact, just made of props.

He, Nick, and Nick's wife Marissa cooked up some homemade red and alfredo sauce. Assisting them, Nick's 88 year old grandmother, Nana Camino! She even shared the secret ingredient for her red sauce. And to thank her, we surprised Nana with a birthday cake, as we filmed the story on her 88th birthday.

If you want to make either sauce at home, here are the recipes. Buon Appetito!

Marissa Camino's Alfredo Sauce

1/4 butter

1 cup heavy cream

6 cloves garlic

2 cups cheese ( parm and Romano)

1/4 cup chopped parsley

Nana Camino's Red Sauce

Come on, Nana Camino doesn't reveal her secrets.
