Video: Dana White was ‘freaking out’ that Calvin Kattar might die in Max Holloway fight

UFC’s President was unsure if Calvin Kattar would make it home after getting beaten to a pulp by “Blessed.”

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President, Dana White, was not confident that Calvin Kattar would make it out alive after a thorough beating at the hands of Max Holloway.

Holloway vs. Kattar headlined UFC on ABC, which took place inside Etihad Arena at Fight Island on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. on Sat., Jan. 16. “Blessed” lit up Kattar on the feet (watch highlights) and earned an avalanche-like unanimous decision (50-43, 50-43, 50-42). A behind-the-scenes video reveals just how gruesome the fight looked to White.

“He took so much f—king punishment in this fight, I’m freaking out a little bit,” White told UFC Chief Business Officer, Hunter Campbell in a re-surfaced clip from UFC’s Grand New Stage video. “I don’t know. I don’t like it. This reminds me of the kind of fight where the fights over and he walks in the back and f—king dies. I think f—king Herb Dean should have stopped it in the fourth round. He was wobbling all over the f—king place.

“He should have stopped the fight right there,” White continued. “When this fights over, no stopping, no talking. Get this kid in the ambulance and get him the f—k out of here.”

White subsequently walked over to Kattar’s coaching staff.

“Hey guys, guys — I want him out of here. Don’t talk to anybody and go right to the f—king hospital.”

And debriefed with UFC commentator and former two-division UFC champion Daniel Cormier.

“I’m just a little worried about him. That was a f—king war,” White reiterated to Cormier. “It should have been stopped in the fourth round.”

Kattar (22-5) has not fought since suffering the loss to former UFC Featherweight champion Holloway. “Blessed” is rumored to fight Yair Rodriguez at a UFC Fight Night on Nov. 13 after their previously scheduled fight in July fell apart.
