Netflix has released a new Behind the Animation video, and it offers a behind the scenes look at the animation for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. The video features Kwang Il Han as he provides an inside look at how the characters and settings were designed for the prequel film.

Kwang Il Han also discusses the use of 2D and 3D animation, and how his team combined elements of Japanese animation and American animation to create a distinct look for the film. It’s pretty cool to see the process that goes into creating a film like this.

I actually really enjoyed The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf and the art style they used for it works great. The story is set “long before” the events of the first season of the live-action series, and the show will focus on the adventures of Geralt’s mentor and friend, Vesemir. The synopsis reads:

“Long before mentoring Geralt, Vesemir begins his own journey as a witcher after the mysterious Deglan claims him through the Law of Surprise.”

The movie is currently streaming on Netflix, so if you haven’t seen it yet, you might want to check it out!
