Have you ever met someone who inspires you to dance joyously alone in your room when you think of them? Well, based on her latest single, it’s clear that Chicago-based musician and poet Tasha certainly has. “Perfect Wife,” which arrives with the news of a November 5 release date for her sophomore album Tell Me What You Miss the Most, comes with a visual directed by coool that finds Tasha blissfully in love, resulting in some dancing-alone time.

“When Tasha approached us with the song, we knew there had to be flowers and there had to be dancing,” say coool. “It’s this pure, magical love song that, for all of us, felt like those ‘too good to be true’ moments that occur when you’re really falling for someone.” Tasha added: “This visual represents the giddiness and excitement of going on a first date with someone, and having it turn out even better than you could have imagined. Paired with their vision for a retro, theatrical, musical-movie kind of world, I think this video wonderfully captures that magic of being totally head over heels for someone perfect.”

“Perfect Wife” is a shift in sound from what we’ve heard from Tasha recently. It’s upbeat and punchy, featuring flutes that capture the anxious flutter of butterflies one might feel after falling in love or forming a crush. “You’ll take care of me / I’ll take care of you, too,” she sings, envisioning a future filled with rose-flushed cheeks and bright smiles. Equal parts bluesy, jazzy, and bright, “Perfect Wife” is the soundtrack for that moment when the quest for a companion comes to a delightful end. Of course, a celebration is in order with some sweet moves to welcome a love-filled future.
