EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders' Janine Butcher sparked Zack Hudson's suspicions in tonight's episode as the iconic character continued to pose as a doctor who was treating baby Albie.

Janine (Charlie Brooks) returned to the Square in Monday's episode, introducing herself as Dr Bernstein to newcomer Zack (James Farrar), who had stepped in for sister Sharon (Letitia Dean) at Albie's doctor's appointment.

In Tuesday's (September 7) episode, Janine immediately got down to the business of checking out baby Albie's rash, but she quickly rushed off to get some medicine before she could explain her diagnosis to Zack.

"It's definitely a skin condition," she blagged. "It looks to me, in my professional opinion... I think, dermatologically speaking... I'm just going to go get a cream!"

Confused, Zack watched on as the 'doctor' made a hasty exit, with her erratic behaviour clearly sparking Zack's suspicions.

Meanwhile, Janine could be seen secretly talking to the real doctor, Dr Cole, as details about the scam they're running came to light: Janine is posing as a doctor because Dr Cole has been struck off, and together they're overcharging for consultations and medicines in order to make some fast money.

Dr Cole ended up telling Janine exactly what to say about the diagnosis to Zack, and it wasn't long before 'Dr Bernstein' returned to the consultation room to share the information with Zack.

Meanwhile, Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) was determined to tell Janine's daughter Scarlett (Tabitha Byron) about Tommy being her brother, but before she could Janine burst into the room.

"It's been very kind of you to babysit," Janine told Kat. "But I'll take it from here."

As the hearing got underway Janine insisted that she'd changed and was fit to look after Scarlett once again – something Kat was quick to disagree, and she was eventually left with no option but to admit that Scarlett and Tommy were siblings.

"She wants to live with me... and her brother," Kat shared. "He wants her to live with us, more than anything."

In light of the new information presented at the hearing, the judge ruled that Scarlett's case would be adjourned, leaving Kat relieved that there was still hope for her to become Scarlett's carer.

"I won't give up either, I promise you that," Kat told Scarlett.

But Kat's relief didn't last too long, as later on Janine rocked up at the Vic and wasted no time in making herself right at home in Albert Square once again as she vowed to do whatever it takes to keep Scarlett in her care.

"This isn't a game, Kat," she said, prompting Kat to reply: "It's always a game."

"Whatever it takes," Janine continued. "She's coming home with me."

But now that Janine is back in Walford, is it only a matter of time before she bumps into Zack and her doctor scam is rumbled?
