The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tom Brady are kicking off the NFL regular season on Thursday night against the Dallas Cowboys. The hype is building rapidly. The Bucs just won the Super Bowl and are one of the favorites to win Super Bowl LVI next February in Los Angeles.

However, the Buccaneers received some concerning news regarding wide receiver Chris Godwin with the opener just a couple of days away. According to Bucs writer Scott Smith, Godwin was limited with a quad issue on Tuesday on the official Cowboys Bucs injury report.

This could be a problem if Godwin can't go Thursday for some reason. On the other hand, Rob Gronkowski, Mike Evans, and Antonio Brown are also going to be catching passes from Tom Brady, but Godwin is set for a huge season with the Buccaneers.

The Cowboys have Dak Prescott ready to roll for the opener after he had season-ending surgery in 2020, and the Tom Brady-Dak Prescott matchup is going to be a fantastic one. If Godwin can't go for whatever reason, it could be a bit tougher for the Buccaneers.

Chris Godwin was at practice on Monday with the Buccaneers, so this feels like a new injury and will definitely be something to monitor over the next couple of days until the Cowboys Bucs kicks off and begins a new season of NFL plot twists and turns.
