Zachary Levi is easily one of Hollywood's nicest celebrities on-and-off the camera and there's just something about the former Disney and Marvel Cinematic Universe actor that makes you want to root for him. Levi's career received a massive boost following his involvement in the original Shazam! film but despite his current success in the DC Extended Universe, the Chuck actor admits that he's still open to making an MCU comeback given the chance.

During a panel appearance at the recently-concluded DragonCon 2021 (via MovieWeb), Zachary revealed that he's always wanted to play Deadpool on the big screen, admitting that he feels a little jealousy towards Ryan Reynolds who has been playing the fourth-wall-breaking mutant since 2016.

Despite the "jealousy" he feels, Levi went on to praise Reynolds for doing an excellent job at playing the beloved Marvel anti-hero. He explained: "For years I've wanted to be Deadpool. I was so jealous that Ryan, he rocked that. When you see somebody do something that you've wanted to do for a long time, and they do it great, you're like, ‘Kudos, rock ‘n roll'."

No offense meant to Zachary but he's not actually Deadpool material. Sure, he's pretty darn hilarious but he comes across as an overall nice guy and it'll be hard to picture him cussing on a regular basis let alone killing people using Mr. Pool's trusty katana and handguns. Plus, I think he's a little too tall to be the Merc with a Mouth anyway so yeah, just stick to playing Shazam. We already love you as the Earth's Mightiest Mortal.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods will hit cinemas in 2023.
