SLEEP ON IT

UFC look like they’re selling ‘sleepy’ Conor McGregor toy by advertising £30 figure with unfortunate angle

CONOR MCGREGOR simply cannot escape the jibes over his defeat to Dustin Poirier - with UFC even appearing to sell a 'sleepy' Conor toy.

The MMA organisation's merchandise website offers fans the chance to buy an official Kokies figure of the Irish star for £30.

Yet one unfortunate angle on the site shows the figure lying down, akin to the shed load of memes that followed his defeat in January.

Poirier and Jake Paul were quick to seize on the image of McGregor on the canvas.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul even ordered a £73,000 custom pendant of the UFC legend's pose.

Attached to a diamond-encrusted chain, the social media sensation sent the item to the victorious Poirier as recognition of his win in the second of their trilogy contests.

The 28-6 lightweight fighter vowed to auction the item for charity.

And the 4.25-inch toy sold by UFC may be fans' best chance of owning a similar item.

The vinyl product may not be intentionally marketed as a fun poke at McGregor's defeat, but the similarities are plain for all to see.

Should the 33-year-old want to set the record straight with Paul, the offer of a boxing match-up is on the table.

A £37million contract was first dangled in front of McGregor - and he appeared to be interested following the American's fight with Tyron Woodley.

But Paul knocked down his offer to £20 following the Poirier bout.

Which isn't even enough for McGregor to buy the figure of himself.
