EXCLUSIVE — LaSalle acquires class A retail, trophy office and land in Canada

LaSalle Investment Management has acquired a portfolio of properties in Montreal and Vancouver from Ivanhoé Cambridge.

The deal includes the acquisition of a 50 percent stake in Maison Manuvie, a 485,000-square-foot trophy office asset in Montreal. Manulife, whose Quebec headquarters are located in the office tower, will be LaSalle’s 50 percent partner in the property. Maison Manuvie is one of the newest premier office towers in Canada. Built in 2017 with a LEED Gold designation, the property is located in Montreal’s financial district.

“We’ve long wanted to gain a trophy foothold in the Montreal office market, and we are extremely excited to be able to do so with such an outstanding property,” John McKinlay, CEO of LaSalle Canada, told IREI in an exclusive interview.
