The Suicide Squad spoilers follow.
The Suicide Squad post-credits scene has officially been released, and you don't have to sit through the credits to enjoy it.
Following the release of James Gunn's antihero epic earlier this year, Worlds of DC and HBO have now appeared to confirm that the upcoming Peacemaker TV series directly ties in to the events of the Suicide Squad re-imagining.
Not that we should be surprised, seeing as Gunn is working on that project, too.

As part of an online The Suicide Squad watch party, the official Twitter account for the Peacemaker series shared the movie's post-credits scene in full, in which it's revealed that John Cena's character survived both Bloodsport's attack and the Jötunheim reactor crush.
"I'll be ready for my series @JamesGunn [I] just have a sore throat #TSSWatchParty #peacemaker", the post read.

Explaining how the scene came about, director James Gunn previously admitted that the return of Peacemaker/Christopher Smith at the end of the DC movie was actually a last-minute decision.
"It got added because [of] the TV show," Gunn said. "I didn't say I was going to do the TV show until after the movie was basically finished being cut. So then I got asked to do the TV show, and then I said I would do it.
"Then when we started shooting the TV show, I shot the post-credit scene."

As for what fans can expect from the spin-off series, Gunn promised that the show will chart Peacemaker's change as a character, after joking that he "changes for the worst" in the movie.
"It's about being able to go on this adventure with this character who has a lot of true issues. Bloodsport's issues take two hours and 15 minutes to deal with," the filmmaker said.
"Peacemaker's issues take at least six and a half hours. So, it's about really giving us a glimpse inside this character."
The Suicide Squad is out now in UK and US cinemas. In the US, it will also stream on HBO Max for 31 days after release.
