Ronnie Bell’s season is finished after sustaining a knee injury in the season opener against Western Michigan.

That is per Jim Harbaugh during his Monday press conference. Harbaugh confirmed the injury was to Bell’s knee and that he will be sidelined for the rest of the season.

Needless to say, this is a tough blow for Bell personally and a big loss to the Michigan offense:

Bell made a huge impact in a hurry as Cade McNamara’s favorite target early in the season opener. He scored on a 70+ yard touchdown and gashed Western Michigan with an impressive punt return.

Unfortunately, it was that long punt return that Bell was injured on. He had to be helped out without any pressure applied to his left leg.

Bell was not the only significant B1G star to be confirmed out on Monday. Minnesota head coach PJ Fleck confirmed that star running back Mo Ibrahim will be out for the season after a lower-body injury against Ohio State.
