Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Title Update 1.3.1 Adds New Nightmare Difficulty, River Raids Game Modes and More

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s title update 1.3.1 releases today which adds new content to the game’s recently introduced River raids, and adds a new combat difficulty among other improvements.

What's New in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Title Update 1.3.1?

Title update 1.31.1 will include the following additions to the River Raids game mode:

Added 3 new river - Erriff, Berbha, Rhine.
New rewards - Lugh's Armor and 5 weapons, including a short sword.
Jomsviking Hall can be upgraded to Level 4-5, allowing players to hire Jomsviking of Level 4-5, respectively.
River Raid Longship cargo can be upgraded to Level 4-5.
3 new abilities - Spinning Harpoon, Percussion Arrow and Precision Axe Throw.
Targeted Rune socketing
Perk & Rune Perk Cap removal

A new difficulty tier called Aesir (Nightmare) is also being added to the game which affect the game in the following ways:

+200% damages received
Standard damage inflicted
-40% rations heal
-38% Parry timing windows

Players will now heal according to their selected difficulty setting:

Easy & Default = 100%
Hard = 80%
Very Hard = 60%
Nightmare = 60%

Ubisoft has also community tattoo contest items to the game which include 4 new tattoos along with an 'Odin's Blessing' tattoo that can be claimed on Ubisoft Connect for free.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Title Update 1.3.1 Download Size and Release Date

The new update will vary in size across different platforms, which are as follows:

Xbox Series X|S: 34.05 GB
Xbox One: 26.23 GB
PlayStation 5: 14.31 GB
PlayStation 4: 30.00 GB
PC: 26.49 GB

The update will drop on September 7 at 5:30 PM in India.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla has been continually updated with new mechanics which perhaps gives the game more value than some of its predecessors. The game is set to receive extra expansions and support well into its second year, which is a first for the franchise. Of course, we now know that these updates are experimental in nature due to Ubisoft's recently announced development of a fully live-service Assassin's Creed game/platform.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, with both of its expansions available as part of its season pass as well as being sold individually.
