NCAA Football: Southern Miss vs. South Alabama

First year head coaches Will Hall and Kane Wommack faced off in Mobile Saturday with South Alabama hosting Southern Miss as both programs opened up their respective 2021 seasons.

While running back Trey Lowe was able to get the Golden Eagles on the board first with a one-yard score, it would be the only time USM saw the endzone.

South Alabama quarterback Jake Bentley threw for two touchdowns and ran for another one as the Jaguars answered the Golden Eagles seven points with 31 straight of their own.

In the 31-7 loss, running back Frank Gore Jr. led the Golden Eagles with 61 yards on the ground.
