There is always talk about who shouldn't of been axed or killed off, but what about the best decisions the show has made?

Recasting Peggy for Barbara Windsor is one that stands out to me

    Agreed about Peggy, was going to say that

    I think making Stacey Bipolar like her mum was a stroke of genius

    Agree with that, that whole Stacey arc was brilliant, i would even include the Post Partum Psychosis as well, both were Lacey at her very very best

    Writing Max Branning out.
    Bringing Nancy back.
    Making Frankie Mick's daughter.
    Giving Carol a happy exit after all the misery she had to endure on the square.

    I agree with all those and add:

    Jack and Tiffany's relationship.

    Bernie's low key coming out story.

    Ian's exit making Kathy the dominant character in the Beales.

    Bobby's repentance.

    Genius creating R&R just a shame SOC then screwed up killing them off.

    Bringing Dot back in 1997 and pairing up her & Jim.

    Giving Kat & Alfie a happy “ending” at Christmas 2005.

    Hiring Matthew Robinson as producer in 1998 which dragged the show out of the doldrums and into one of its greatest eras IMO.

    Replacing the di Marcos with the Slaters in 2000.

    Resurrecting Kathy.

    Killing off Derek Branning (had to get that one in!).

    Bringing back Bobby. I think the actor that plays him is brilliant and I’ve enjoyed how he has developed since he’s come back, and how killing Lucy hasn’t been forgotten or brushed under the carpet but how it’s had long term consequences on his life.

    Casting Charlie Brooks as Janine

    The slaters - in their heyday they were amazing

    Chrissie Watts - great character and made 2005

    So many great things and so many to mention

    I still find it crazy to this day that Stacey’s character wouldn’t even exist if Lacey hadn’t of auditioned for Demi! 😱

    Most likely, I’m just glad that she was denied the role tbh as Stacey is one of the best characters 😍

    BK's decision to make Janine a millionaire stands out in my mind as being one of the best examples of character development in the show's history.

    Making Janine a millionaire for me. Could have ruined the character and what she’s about, took her into a completely different stratosphere instead.
