A Miami-area mother faces murder charges in an attack that left a toddler dead and two others with stab wounds.
Police arrested Precious Leslie Bland, 38, on charges of murder, two counts of attempted murder, and two counts of aggravated child abuse with great bodily harm.
Last month, police responded to a home along W. 99th Street and NW 30th Avenue. Officers found a 15-month-old girl face down in the bathtub, and Bland's husband and stepdaughter with stab wounds.
According to the arrest report, Bland's husband told police she went on a rant about how COVID-19 is going to "kill us all." He also said she claimed Jesus was coming and that she wanted to baptize her family in the bathtub.
Police said Bland, after drowning the toddler, stabbed her husband in the head and neck. She also stabbed her stepdaughter when the teen tried to grab the toddler.
Police said Bland then cut her wrists. Police arrested Bland last Thursday. After she left the hospital police said she confessed.
