Tony Khan Explains Reason Behind The Date Change For AEW Full Gear 2021

Tony Khan says there are big plans for Full Gear.

During the AEW All Out 2021 event, it was announced that the AEW Full Gear 2021 event was moving back a week from November 6 to November 13, and where the event was once scheduled to take place in St. Louis, Missouri, that is no longer set in stone.

Speaking on a post-show media scrum after AEW All Out, Tony explains that with a Canelo Alvarez fight and a UFC event featuring Kamaru Usman vs. Colby Covington taking place on November 6, it made all the sense in the world to move the event back because Tony says he is a good friend of Dana White and this will allow for all parties to be successful. Tony would also say that while he can't confirm St. Louis for the pay-per-view any longer, he can confirm that the Rampage episode the night before will be held in St. Louis.

”I really would prefer not to compete head-to-head with, honestly, knocking over for one thing, but also, Dana is a really good friend of mine and I don't really see any point of taking money off of each other's plate. He's got a big pay-per-view that day and I was actually able to, when you find out what we've got set up, it's a logistically big change, but I think in the end, it probably is going to work out better for us and work out better for them. Then, my friend and I both get to do our shows on back-to-back weekends and be very happy.”

He added, “I can't get into the destination [of Full Gear], but I will say that we will still be in St. Louis for Friday night Rampage, which is the night before.”
