I May Destroy You creator/breakout star Michaela Coel has addressed the idea of stepping into Doctor Who's shoes.
With current incumbent Jodie Whittaker confirmed to be vacating the iconic role next year, the question of her replacement is one of the most fervent right now amongst TV lovers.
In a question and answer sessions curated by The Guardian recently, Coel was asked by a film student, "Would you ever consider playing the doctor in Doctor Who?"

Her answer? "I never say never to anything. I guess that's my answer."
We think that's a cards-close-to-the-chest kind of response, but one we'll definitely take all the same.
Elsewhere in the world of The Doctor, just last week, Whittaker herself shared two standout moments from her time wielding the TARDIS.
"I'd say the two headline highlights for me are having a brand-new family of cast and crew, and making a set of mates for life in an environment where we have such joy going into work everyday and we're part of something so amazing," she said on Shaun Keaveny's BBC6 Music show.
"You know, we've been handed our baton and we're really holding on tight to it," she laughed, before further explaining: "It's been such a beautiful journey for that, but also on the outside of it, seeing how much it means to Doctor Who fans of old, to new Whovians, to people who've kind of gone away and revisited.
"Whatever their stage of the Whovian journey they're in, just being half a second in that has been really exciting," she continued.
Doctor Who airs on BBC One in the UK. In the US, the show airs on BBC America, with series 1-12 available on HBO Max. Series 13 is due to premiere later this year.
