WATCH: Why a Boston Celtics, Rajon Rondo reunion wasn't going to happen despite buyout

Former Boston Celtics champion point guard Rajon Rondo had his contract bought out by the Memphis Grizzlies after being dealt there by the Los Angeles Clippers. The move sparked hopes for a Celtics reunion among some fans of the Boston alumnus.

Instead, Rondo signed with the team’s longtime rival, the Los Angeles Lakers, despite being an integral part of the Celtics last championship. Why didn’t Boston pursue a reunion? There could be several reasons, from fit to available roster space and personal goals with any number of factors perhaps the deciding factor.
