Lots of sunshine for Labor Day, but stay out of Lake Michigan

(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)

(Meteorologist Maci Tetrick) It’s a great Labor Day forecast. Get outdoors and enjoy the sunshine, but for anybody heading to the beach: there is a red flag for swimming once today with dangerous waves on Lake Michigan

Temperatures climb to a high around 80 this afternoon. Skies will stay mostly clear with temperatures falling into the upper 50s on Monday night.

You may want a jacket out the door on Tuesday morning. You’ll also want to grab an umbrella for Tuesday afternoon. The first half of the day is dry, but showers and thunderstorms move in for the second half of the day. There is a chance some of the storms could be on the strong to severe side.

By Wednesday morning, we’re dry again with temperatures seasonable through the end of the week. Another stretch of 80 degree temperatures is in store for us starting on Saturday.
