Napa residents must have gotten the point across to the promoters of BottleRock Napa Valley, because neither of the headliners broke the strict 10 p.m. curfew at the Napa Valley Expo on the last night of the festival.

Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion, who started her Verizon Stage headlining set about 15 minutes late on Sunday, Sept. 5, ran through all of her hits, from “Savage” and “Hot Girl Summer to “WAP,” for a set that totaled about 50 minutes despite being billed for 90. Meanwhile, the Foo Fighters completed their full set on the main JaM Cellars Stage with about 10 minutes to spare.

But no one seemed to mind.

“She came out energetic, and it was exciting,” said Isabelle Lily of Sebastopol, who caught the rapper at the hip-hop festival Rolling Loud in Miami in July. “She did her job.”

Megan Thee Stallion hit the stage and twerked with her six dancers throughout her set on one of the hottest nights of the festival, where temps dropped to the lower 70s only after sundown. Unlike Saturday’s Verizon Stage headliner, Miley Cyrus, she didn’t spend any time bantering with her loyal “hotties.”

Instead, Megan called out for all her “hot girls” and encouraged her fans to celebrate their bodies no matter the shape.

“If you love your body make some motherf—in’ noise,” she told the crowd, before jumping into her 2020 hit “Body” sparking a twerkout throughout the festival field.

“Oh, I like it here,” Megan added. “I didn’t even know it was lit out here like this.”
