Stranger Things season 4 release date rumors: Is filming done?

We heard some excellent Stranger Things season 4 release date rumors that we need to share with fans.

Stranger Things season 4 restarted filming in late 2020, but it’s starting to look like production on season 4 has wrapped!

According to a tweet from @StrangerNews11, the cast and crew have wrapped production on Stranger Things season 4 as of Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021. They’ve had a ton of good Stranger Things scoops, so we have to believe this is true. This is right in line with what has been said for months about season 4. Numerous cast members, along with executive producer Shawn Levy, confirmed production would be wrapping around August or September.

We’re still waiting for the official word on Stranger Things season 4 wrapping production from Netflix, but this is incredible news about the Netflix original series.

Is Stranger Things season 4 done filming?

Stranger Things season 4 began production in January 2020, right before the pandemic began, in Lithuania. Production moved back to Atlanta in March 2020 before it was shut down for at least 6-8 months.

This is good news for a number of reasons. Obviously, the sooner production ends, the sooner we’ll see the new season on Netflix, but there’s so much more to it. It’s so much more likely, now, that we’ll see even more teasers, trailers, and promotional things, including all those branded partnerships. I think I speak for everyone; we need some new Stranger Things merch.

Stranger Things season 4 release date

The Stranger Things season 4 release date is scheduled for 2022. Netflix announced that much in a 30-second promo that aired during the Olympics. There’s no doubt it will be one of the best Netflix shows coming in 2022.

So far, we’ve seen a few teasers for Stranger Things season 4, and fans are hoping that we’ll see a new teaser, the third of four confirmed teasers, at TUDUM, the special Netflix event on Sept. 25. That’s only a short time away!

There’s also a growing belief among fans that the official Stranger Things season 4 release date will also be announced at TUDUM. We hope that happens, but it’s probably pretty unlikely. We think Netflix will save the season 4 release date for another day.

If Stranger Things season 4 is truly done filming, we have to assume the release date will be scheduled for sometime between February and the end of May 2022. We’re planning to wait between 5-9 months from now until the new season is released.

There are some who believe Stranger Things season 4 will be ready for Valentine’s Day 2022, which would be amazing!

There are other rumors that suggest we could see Stranger Things season 4 in April 2022, which is probably the most likely scenario. February would be awesome, but we always expect a little longer than six months of post-production for a show like Stranger Things. 

There are other reasons why Stranger Things season 4 could be released in April. We’ll talk about those at a later date.

So, for now, expect to see Stranger Things season 4 in spring 2022, probably sometime in April.
