SALT LAKE COUNTY — Officials with the Utah Highway Patrol asked drivers to please be careful after a crash Saturday night that they said “could have been much worse.”
It happened on westbound Interstate 80 to the westbound state Route 201 ramp.
Trooper Andrew Battenfield with UHP said the driver was blinded by the sun, started to miss his exit and tried to get over.
The ramp was blocked for a few hours after Battenfield said fuel spilled onto the roadway.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but UHP officials issued a statement on the crash Sunday morning.
“Please, if you are going to miss your exit, just go up to the next one and turn around. We see a lot of vehicles cutting across the gore areas and coming close to hitting barriers or other vehicles. It’s dangerous and easy to fix,” read the Facebook post.
